Harvest is a reflection on what I believe is the legacy of Western civilization to the rest of humanity. While the west has made wonderful contributions to social progress, it has also sowed the seeds of social implosion. Until we learn to recognize and come to terms with the insidious aspects of our civilization, we will never be able to change the path we are on and will continue to foster progress of a dubious nature.
Bestiary is a study about the correlation between human nature and the human intellect. While the human intellect soars to apotheotic heights, human nature seems to be stuck backwards thousands of years. This disparate rhythm has caused our living environment to evolve at a pace that exceeded the capacity in our nature to adapt our behavior to live well-adjusted lives in it, causing us to live in a world built by state-of-the-art technology and governed by the reflexes of people in the neolithic.
Humanity has reached a crossroad, we must take a long hard look at how we got to where we are so we can take the right path moving forward. Bestiary is a reflection on the morphology of our civilization. Its fundaments, its drives and aspirations and the results of its endeavors. Seeing as how the environmental crisis humanity is faced with was brought on by the west’s process of development, the responsibility to set the wheels in motion to find a way out of the predicament falls on our shoulders. This series of works is an analysis of various facets of western Civilization: its fundaments, its religion, its wars, its agriculture and labor, its science and technology, its culture and leisure, and its legacy. .
